August weather was warm and dry.
The average temperature for August of 73.6° was 1.8° above normal and was twelfth highest in the last fifty four years. Four days reached 90°, with the highest being 94° on the seventh. The low temperature for the month was 53° on the sixteenth.
The month’s temperatures were divided into two sections. The first twenty days averaged 75.6°, while the remaining eleven days averaged 70.0°. Five of the last eleven days did not reach 80°.
The total precipitation for the month was 2.53 inches, which is 1.42 inches below normal and the fifteenth driest in the last fifty four years. Only 0.36 inches fell between the fifth and the twenty third. The total for the year now stands at 24.87 inches, which is 7.00 inches below normal.
The average temperature for the three summer months of 72.6° was the seventh warmest summer behind 73.3° in 2020. Total precipitation for the three summer months was 9.96 inches, which is 1.82 inches below normal.

July Weather Summary – 2026
July brought some much needed precipitation.
July started off very warm, reaching 90° on the first four days, including 99° on the 2nd and 98° on the 3rd. Both of these were new records for the date. The minimums on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of 74°, 75°, and 74° were new high minimums for the date. Six days in July reached 90°.
The month was divided into two parts, with the first fifteen days averaging 77.0° and the last sixteen days averaging 70.2°. The average for the month of 73.5° was only 0.1° above normal. Occasional smoke was noted in the atmosphere from the 14th through the 18th. The high temperature for the month was 99° on the 2nd and the low was 49° on the 26th.
Rain started to fall after the first week totalling 5.22 inches by month’s end. This was 1.64 inches above normal. The total for the year is 22.34 inches, which is 5.58 inches below normal.

June Weather Summary – 2026
June weather continued to be warm.
Twenty two days reached 80°, including thirteen consecutive days from the 3rd through the 15th. The average temperature for the month was 70.6°, which was 3.0° above normal, the same as last year, and the third warmest of record. The four warmest June averages have all occurred since 2020. Four days reached 90°, peaking out at 93° on the 11th. Daily records were set on the 3rd and 4th when it reached 85° and 89° respectively. The minimum of 71° on the 12th was a new high minimum for the date. The low for the month was 41°, on the 2nd.
Total precipitation for the month was 2.21 inches, which is 2.04 inches below normal. 1.36 inches of that total fell in five days, from 19th through the 24th. The total for the first six months of the year is 17.12 inches, which is 7.22 inches below normal.

April Weather Summary – 2026
April weather was very dry.
The total precipitation for April of 2.10 inches was 2.33 inches below normal. This was the eighth driest April in 53 years of records. The total for the year is now 11.98 inches, which is 4.52 inches below normal.
Rainfall is needed as we head into the warmer weather. The temperature for the month started with a high of 74° on the 1st, which was a record for the date. The month’s average of 49.2° was only 0.7° above normal. Twelve of the last thirteen days of the month had an average temperature that was 5.4° below normal. That was preceeded by five days that averaged 13.8° above normal, including 85° on the 14th, followed by 81° and 76° on the 15th and 16th. The high for the month was 85° on the 14th and the low was 25° on the 9th.

March Weather Summary – 2026
March weather brought us out of winter conditions.
March weather brought March madness on the 16th and 17th with wind damage bringing trees and wires down on Carl Road, South Street, and Summer Street. Earlier in the month, the temperature reached 74° on the 10th, which was a new record for the date, and the high for the month. March 9 has seen higher temperatures reaching 74° in 2000 and 2020, and reaching 77° in 2020. The low for the month was 5° on the 2nd. These mild conditions saw the last inch of snow on the ground coming on the 11th and the ice coming out of Cobb’s Pond on the 17th.
The average temperature for the month was 40.3°, which was 2.6° above normal. Eighteen days had above normal averages, with six consecutive days from the 7th through the 12th being the longest period. Precipitation for the month amounted to 4.78 inches, which was 0.01 inch above normal. Total precipitation for the year of 9.88 inches is 2.19 inches below normal. Total snowfall was 2.3 inches, compared to an average of 11.6 inches.

February Weather Summary – 2026
February ended a cold and snowy winter.
Although individual months were not far below normal in temperature nor exceptionally snowy, the winter as a whole will long be remembered. The average temperature for February of 25.9°, was 4.5° below normal, and the coldest since 2015. This was the third below normal month of the winter. The high temperature for the month was 52° on the 28th, and the low was zero on the eighth. Snowfall for the month totaled 25.8 inches, which is 11.7 inches above the average, but lower than the 35 inch totals reported to our south.
The storm of the 23rd and 24th left 18.0 inches of snow. It was our snowiest month since February 2021, and well below the February 2015 total of 54.6 inches. The snow and cold of February 2015 is likely to be unmatched in a long time. Only five days averaged above normal in February The thirty one day period from January 24 through February 24 saw an average temperature of 22.4° and a total snowfall of 43.6 inches.
This was the most wintry month long period of the winter. Total snowfall for the three winter months was 59.6 inches.

January Weather Summary – 2026
January’s weather was divided into three parts.
January started off with six days below normal, including a minimum of 8° on the 5th.The maximum temperature for that period was 33° on the 6th. Snowfall during that period was only 4.0 inches. This was followed by twelve out of thirteen days with above normal temperatures, with the maximum being 52° on the 15th. The temperature also reached 51° on the 10th and 50° on the 14th. The minimum during this period was 17° on the 16th. Despite the above normal temperatures, 5.9 inches of snow fell on the 19th and 20th.
Then came the last twelve days with an average temperature of 16.5°, which is 11.3° below normal. The average maximum for the period was 26.8°, and the average minimum was 6.1°. The average for the month was 25.4°, which is 2.8° below normal, and the coldest since 2015.
The highlight of the month was the snowstorm of the 25th and the 26th, when 18.2 inches of snow fell. Total snowfall for the month was 28.6 inches, which is the most since 2022.
The high temperature for the month was 52° on the 15th, and the low was minus 6° on the 31st. Daily temperature records were set on the 30th with a new low maximum of 16° and on the 31st when the minimum was a new low of minus 6°. The total precipitation for the month of 3.10 inches was 0.84 inches below normal.

December Weather Summary – 2025
December was the coldest since 2017!
With an average temperature of 29.5°, December was the coldest December since 2017, and the eighth coldest in the last fifty three years. Fourteen of the first sixteen days were below normal by an average of 7.3° per day. Only one day failed to go below freezing, and only one day reached 50°. The high temperature for the month was 59°on the 19th, which is a record high for the date; and the low was 5°, on the ninth, which is a record low for the date, and on the 28th. Twenty days of the month averaged below normal.
Total precipitation for the month amounted to 3.03 inches, which is 1.93 inches below normal. Snowfall amounted to only 5.2 inches, which is 5.6 inches below normal. There was only a trace of snow on the ground on Christmas Day, The average temperature for 2025 of 51.2° was 0.3° above normal, which is the lowest since 2019, while the total precipitation of 45.30 inches was 4.29 inches below normal.Precipitation was normal up until October 22, then it fell below normal.

November Weather Summary – 2025
November’s weather was uneventful.
November was an uneventful weather month. The average temperature of 41.4° was 1.1° below normal, with 20 days below normal and 10 days above normal. The nine days from the 17th through the 25th averaged 4.4° below normal.
The high temperature for the month was 63° on the ninth, and the low was 21° on the 20th and the 23rd. Precipitation for the month amounted to 2.18 inches, which is 1.90 inches below normal. The total for the year now stands at 42.27 inches, which is 2.36 inches below normal. No measurable snowfall was observed, but a trace was noted on three days.

October Weather Summary – 2025
October weather had above normal rainfall.
As opposed to last October’s dry conditions, October 2025 saw 5.21 inches of precipitation, which is 0.24 inches above normal. All of that after the first six days started off with total sunshine. 2.23 inches of rain was measured from the thirteenth through the fifteenth. Total precipitation for the year is 40.09 inches, which is 0.46 inches below normal.
October was also on the mild side, with an average temperature of 53.6°, which is 1.0° above normal. Fifteen days were above normal, while sixteen days were below normal. The high temperature for the month was 85° on the 5th, and the low was 28° on the 10th and the 27th. Five consecutive days, from the 19th through the 23rd averaged above normal, while the following six consecutive days averaged below normal.

September Weather Summary – 2025
September weather was spectacular!
Eight days reached 80°. Five consecutive days, from the second through the sixth, reached 80°. All but two days failed to reach 70°. Sixteen of the first twenty two days were below normal, while the last eight days averaged 7.7° above normal. The high temperature for the month was 85°, on the sixth, and the low was 39°, on the twenty first. This was not as high as the 94° noted on September 7, 2023. The high for last September was also 85°.

August Weather Summary – 2025
August weather was the coolest since 2014. With an average temperature of 69.7°, August was the coolest since 2014 and 2.1° below normal. It was the first month below normal since February. Only eight days averaged above normal including the five ninety degree days from the 10th through the 14th. The 17th also reached 90°. The high for the month was 94° on the 11th and the 12th. The 94° maximum on the 11th was a record for the date. The maximum of 66° on the 20th was a new record low maximum temperature for the date.
The total number of 90° days from June through August was 23. The low temperature for the month was 47° on the 28th. This makes August the eleventh coolest in the last 53 years. Total precipitation for the month was only 1.85 inches, which is 2.10 inches below normal, and the ninth driest in the last 53 years. There was no measurable precipitation from the second through fourteenth. Only 0.88 inches fell between the second and the end of the month. Total precipitation for the year is 31.33 inches, which is only 0.54 inches below normal.
